I have a friend who has been keeping Chondros for a good while now, he has 7 in total and he agreed that this is how Mouthrot looks like at it's very beginning.
She had a swab of aspen in her mouth prior to me taking the pictures. I am not sure how it got there, but it did. I think that aspen piece punctured her gum tissue and allowed bacteria to spread.

At any rate as per his advice I am washing the area with a swab dipped in Hydrogen Peroxide twice a day. I am handling her but God is she tenacious. The amazing thing is that not once did she try to bite me. And she's a Biak for crying out loud! I handled her at night and at day... just amazing, and she's very forgiving too. Even after all the poking and swabbing she still climbs on my hand willingly(with no hissing or biting)

Anyways, she's an angel and I really hope she'll pull through alright. I am trying to be very careful when handling her- I don't want her to develop kinks, she's still young.

At any rate no biggie. I do believe that a major progress was made during the past two days. I will continue the treatment for the following 5 days or so though.

I have been keeping snakes for around a year, and taking on a GTP was a major step-up for me. Getting all the positive input from you guys sure gives a boost to the ol' ego

At any rate she is doing great, after 3 days of treatment, I lowered the swabbing to once a day, and that's how it has been for the last 2 days(so it's 5 days worth of treatment in total).

A good sign, I believe, is that she is starting to react aggressively towards the hook when I poke her to stop perching. When I say aggressively I mean 5 successive bites. I am not too happy with her trying to bite a hook as it is a tough material but it's either that or my hand... and the hook kind of forces me to be gentle- which is a good thing. With my hands I may end up causing too much damage... At any rate I believe that aggression generally indicates a healthy snake.

For a Biak, she is still quite the lovely little thing. She never tries to bite when I handle her. And I do believe that at this point in her life, she is at the peak of her grumpiness.

All in all I think it went well. I think I may continue treating her tomorrow though I am uncertain. I will try to photograph her oral cavity again... but she isn't really the yawning type.

Externally speaking, she is healthy as an ox, responsive, her mouth closes perfectly and she has no tongue flicking issues.

BTW I have to say I am so envious with some of you... getting a GTP in Israel wasn't exactly easy, and the stock is insanely limited. There was only one single successful breeding of GTPs here, ever. And mine is an imported specimen for a certainty. I cannot complain in regards to the outcome, I can only hope that Paprika is indeed a female. I am delaying the probing to the point where I deem her big enough (weight and length-wise). If she is a female, I have my friends' males who would be more than happy to go out with her when the time comes... which is ways off still, granted.

I really wish I could get hold of some ATB's and GTP's here without shredding my wallet to bits
