hi guys,
care to help a fellow chondro keeper?
i just acquired few wild caughts and farm raised chondros babies and juvenile-most of them are Biaks and Manokwaris. while i was inspecting each and everyone of them of respiratory infection, mouth rots, ticks or mites, i noticed one juvenile red biak have few small lumps on the side of its body (under the skin). they kind of look like small pimples. i have read somewhere and found out that those are parasites. at the moment i have been giving them albendazole 50-100mg per fortnight but somehow i dont think that will do the trick against the ones under the skins. any ideas on how to get rid of them? is this thing contagious? one guy has suggested that i should cut the skin directly and extract the parasites but i need more confirmation on this matter because i dont think this is right and i might kill the snake instantly.
fyi, each snake is in their separate enclosure at the moment and there is no such thing a reptile vet from where i came from. like any other illnesses in the past, i will have to combat this DIY. therefore i really appreciate the help i could get from this magnificent forum. thanks in advance for any replies.
regards
