Hi,
I am new to Chondros but not snake keeping. I need to put an order in for a rack today, so I hope people are on. For 6 to 8 month olds that are CB and
feeding can I do a 20 qt. rack? Or must I go smaller? I checked the caging archive and found nothing definitive.

Five gallons is a bit larger that what I usually keep chondros in that are less than a year old, however, I think it will be fine. I usually use shoebox size
because I can fit more of them in a rack and it gives them a sense of security. Just make sure they don't feel too exposed, give them plenty of perches to
climb around on, and they should be fine.
You can see my new rack with 5 gallon tubs that are housing 1.5+ year old snakes for a size comparison. Obviously, your cages may differ in dimensions. New Rack Post |
