The vendor you probably saw those chondros at were Lee Watson's.Jason is the younger guy that works his table.I know personally that they are farmed imports.
As far as farmed goes.I have a couple in my possesion that are farmed and they are doing excellent.Never had an issue with feeding or internal parasites.
On the other hand,it is risky with farmed animals.
You can really get yourself in over your head than you need to.Sometimes it is the only way to go with obtaining some certain locales.It is true that they are CB,but they are usually housed in large numbers in some unsanitary facility in a foreign country and are very vulnerable to foreign parasites both internally and externally.By you being new to the Chondro world I would get one that is CBB in the US from a private breeder.It will present less problems and you will know where it came from.Any respectable breeder will be there for you if you have any problems and questions down the line.You won't get that with an imported one.Search the the different forums and you will find some that are about the same price as the ones you saw at the show from a private breeder.
