i was wondering what a safe age and weight for a female gtp to start breeding is.

4 years old and not skinny,
most breeders will tell you at leats 1000 grams but where some females easily reach double that weight other may never reach it, I personally just look at my animals and if I feel they are capable of making it through breeding/ reproduction without health issues I give them a try, Jurgen.

I haven't had a whole lot of luck with the young females (4 yr olds) this year. I second what Jurgen said...Usually 4 yrs old and around 1000g but one of
my females never reached 1000g and laid 20 beautiful eggs.
