I have a 5 1/2 ft ETB that has had about 3/4 inch of prolapse for weeks....I have been putting it back for months but now it wont stay in at all anymore... Has anyone really had success with this? It seems just a matter of time before infection sets in as a part of her swollen mucosa will eventually dry out and form sores....for all of you who think ETBs are more nippy than GTPs, she has never struck at me when I manually inserted her prolapse and I am sure that doesnt feel good. Thanks. ....

Posts: 1511 (12/26/07 21:45:10) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I have a female biak that for what ever reasons just prolapses (chronic), and yes! it is a difficult prolapse to reinsert at times if I don't catch it in time. The last one was about 3-4 weeks ago, and I was traveling on vacation with the wife to Paris, so I had to place 3-4 sutures to keep her cloaca shut for the week that I was gone for. She is doing well and has not prolapsed since the treatment. She's been treated for any possible parasitic infection prophylactically. She is alert and searching food as we speak. Feed time for her this week. Angel Chondros are next to godliness!!

It is amazing how a 6 lb ETB will allow me to digitally reinsert seemingly irritated and inflamed rectal tissue w/o biting me. (if its green, has scales, and lives in a tree, I love it!)

By the time you stick them to give them a local, you may as well suture. She did not react a whole lot though.
