The ChondroForums moderation team occasionally has to delete individual posts. This decision is always made carefully and in keeping with the stated Mission and rules of use. Some of the major reasons for deleting individual posts include:

A. Spam: These are unsolicited, unwanted posts by individuals intent upon advertising or promoting other web sites, business opportunities legal or otherwise, porn links etc., as well as posts intended to subvert the EzBoard and/or ChondroForum registration guidelines

B. Profane or obscene posts: This includes vulgar language, gross sexual innuendo, and crude user names. Kids read the forum as well as adults, including elementary school classrooms and also people of different nationalities and sensitivities.

C. Argumentative, attack, or posts challenging administrative decisions: These are posts that openly attack or ridicule another, are openly argumentative, or openly challenge the decisions of the moderation team. This includes users who continue posting contrary opinions after a moderator has established correct information about a controversial issue, or asked that a discussion be ended. The team will gladly consider comments or questions about moderation policy or decisions, if they are sent privately and are polite.

D. Posts containing broken image links: If posts with information worth reading contain broken image links, moderators may edit the post to remove the image link but leave the text. Posts containing only broken images will be removed. We have been very lenient about this in the past, but with the detailed help provided in this Tech Tips section, the Preview tool, as well as the EzBoard helps link called "Use EzCodes" locate to the left of the text box, there is no excuse for users to leave broken image links in posts. These detract from the quality of the forum, and are frustrating for users to encounter.

If after a user has read the "How to post Images" thread in this Tech Tips section, and is still having technical problems posting images, the moderators will try to help. Images stored in password-protected hosting sites may not be usable in forum posts.

Posts are not deleted:

1/ For retaliation against a user

2/ To ensure that the opinions of the moderators are the only views expressed

It is the policy of the moderation team to send an Email to any user who's post has been removed, with an explanation as to why the action was taken. References to deleted posts will also be removed...please direct all comments about administrative decisions to a member of the moderation team privately.
