How large is the animal? It may be ok to grow it up a bit before trying to extract the subcutaneous worms. Not sure where you are, but it's understood that some areas of the world are lacking "reptile vets". I've seen these bumps on larger w/c Chondros, they had to be removed surgically.

Meg, I don't think you're being rude because I echo your thoughts on this subject. At the same time, if there really isn't a vet he can consult, I believe we should help him as much as we can. That being said, there's only so much we can suggest if a vet just can't be consulted.
Kim Burge
Southern Chondros
<a...

Is there a zoo nearby? They must have a vet to treat their animals. Obvioiusly, meds are extra but I doubt a consultation over the phone is going to run you much more than $40 US.

I truly wish I could give you some input on your snake's problem. Have you done an internet search on sub-cutaneous snake parasites? I wouldn't cut anything out of them without knowing what I'm doing.

Here are a couple of links you might find interesting:

<a...

Would you be willing to pay a good reptile vet for his advice over the phone? I know that doctor Scott Stahl here in the US does phone consultations for chondros all the time.

I would treat each animal as if it did have something that was contagious. Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with sub-dermal parasites, so I don't have any specific medication recommendations. Antibiotics, however, will not kill these skin parasites.

Here are two books that people have...
