I use my cyclist's stand for holding everything from large branches to small coat hangers. I turn the clamping jaws sideways and grip the end of the coat hanger that way.

I use a pair of white bounce umbrellas with Halogen lights that I bought from Ritz Camera's web site. Look under "attache case light kit" or something like that. This portable system is great. I made it even better by adding two clip on incandescent light fixtures that I got at Walmart. P.S. What do you guys use to hold the little baby perches(coat hangers) when taking photos of them?
