So a good start would be to over ride the exposure by at least 1/3 to start with and see what works for you from there using available light. My last camera was the Sony DSCF828, which had Program, Manual, Aperture and Shutter modes, so I got used to "real" (or shall we say, "manual") photography on that. Pretty much the entire time I had it I was on Manual, so the settings I have down in my brain.

What's giving me the most trouble is what you said, the nuances of the camera. F/5, 1/100, ISO100, Daylight, is severly different between the two. I know when Kimberly got her camera she spent some long frustrating days with it...believe me, I heard all about them! *lol* Being a higher-end camera there is almost an endless amount of adjustments and settings to play with, as I'm sure you've seen. From the few times I've 'played around' with it, it is certainly overwhelming...and, as with all cameras, there are certain nuances and things to learn about that are specific to that one camera.
