        <![CDATA[ hey there i;ve had a  bad couple  months I have this  yearling aru  and her  head swelled up and  hasn't come down yet,her gumms  seem to be really swollen. her mouth is gaped  there is some kina goo in there  and her neck is even starting to swelll   could this be motuh rot or something worse?.ive been cleaning it every couple days but it getting worse what  should i do??? 			<description><![CDATA[ sadly to say but my little buddy aru passed.:{<br><br>It;s been about 3 weeks on the baydril now with my 2 year old soroung. her mouth seems to  be closed .she is starting  to shed again  for the second time. she has been having dry shedds since this hole thing  started .  Has anyone encounter this before??i havn't tried feeding yet  should I? ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ I;ve recently had similar problems with two GTP's which had mouth rot.<br><br>I got swabs done and the results were that the infection was sensetive to Baytril and  Fortum.<br><br>The fortum is injected into the skin and baytil is tubed into the stomach due to its injection issues ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ no glues of any kind<br><br><br>i would   assume that they  even thou i  bought them as cb<br><br> he  did take a swab and went into is lab with it came back with baydril  he didn;t give me a name of any diesases or infections.<br><br>as for the vet he sapposed to be one  of the top exotics vets around working with all the top zoos and such.<br><br>do u think i should take the  snake off it<br><br> ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ It causes tissue damage.<br><br>But this wouldn't necessarily kill your animal.<br><br>Rubbermaid tubs shouldn't cause problems like that.<br>but the individual unit that makes up the plastic can cause problems. Depends on the temps.<br>Do a search on wikipedia for polypropylene and then click on propylene.<br>I doubt this is the problem.<br><br>Any glues?<br><br><br>Are these animals imports?<br><br>I would get a different vet. Who knows. Can't rule out a bacterial problem until treatment is attempted.<br>There are also fungal infections.<br>A culture might yield whether or not this is fungal, bacterial or both.<br><br>I don't like the idea of baytril injections in the mouth.<br>That is a very strange treatment.<br><br>You can dilute betadine 10x... ]]></description>

Sounds like a severe case of mouth rot which can lead to R.I. and osteomyelitis (if it hasn't already gotten to that stage).  Any problem that you've been treating that shows signs of worsening requires a vet!
